RxSafe is working with Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, Marin County Office of Education, Tamalpais Union High School District Wellness and BluePath Health on a needs assessment, funded by the California Department of Health Care Services’ Youth Opioid Response project. The purpose is to understand needs surrounding adolescent mental health and substance, and how high schools can serve as an access point.

The project partners have brought together a myriad of community partner organizations in in this effort. The first community meeting held at the Marin County Office of Education campus surfaced specific community needs for improved screening and navigation to resources for mental health and substance use. The second meeting helped to vet a proposed vision for spreading health and wellness models, universal screenings and resource navigation to all Marin County public high schools. RxSafe and its partners will continue collecting community input and draft a final report with stakeholders over the coming months.
